My very first mini quilt!
Wow, i can't believe i've never made a mini quilt before! Though i have made pillow covers so i guess they're kinda like mini quilts right? Anywho, after making the 2wenty Thr3e modern D9P (which is going to get finished if it kills me!!) i had a charm pack left over and you know what goes perfectly with a charm pack?! That's right! My Star Dresden Tutorial! So without further ado, here it is!
I added in some additional prints from my stash and whipped up this little number! I used some Essex linen in natural for the background as well as the backing and bound it in one of my favorite AMH prints, Migratory Lace in Tourmaline.
I've been loving matchstick quilting lately and just had to use it on this mini! It adds so much texture!
I also made my first little hanging pockets for the back, as well as adding on a couple of my fabric labels made with my fabric stamp tutorial!
All in all i think it turned out rather lovely! And i see more Star Dresden mini quilts in my future! As well as more mini's in general! Such a quick and easy finish!
High fives for my first mini quilt!!

ReplyDeleteLove, love it! Especially the quilting, it looks great! Seems to me you've been working on a smaller scale lately anyway, with all those small blocks you're making. So I guess a mini is fitting!
